Love it or hate it, it’s here to stay…. At least for this year. Lucky for me, I LOVE it. In the spring and summer this is pretty close to the shades of my mani, pedi, or both at any given time! (Seriously… Right now, I have some radiant toes.)
Here’s the thing: you don’t have to go head to toe in a shade to truly embrace it. Do what works for you. Just paint those nails, or find a chunky necklace with some orchid accents. If you’re feeling brave, and you love color, then you should certainly buy those pants you’ve been debating over. For the very bold (this would be me), yes, you should absolutely invest in that floor-length gown (or maxi dress for us regular folks who don’t have snazzy “galas” to attend) and rock it as hard as you can. (Work!)
Truth be told, I have two dresses in this shade that are go-to’s for spring and summer… And a few years ago, I bought a one-shoulder ruffled maxi in this bright hue for a wedding. I have a feeling I’ll be trotting that sassy number out again for one of the three weddings already on the books for this year! (Yay!)
I’ve been seeing a lot of pins on Pinterest on how to update your home with this bright color, and if I’m being honest, I haven’t loved all of them. For the home, I think less is more. Try small accents here and there vs. painting and entire room. Bonus points for creative pairings. A small radiant orchid lamp is cool with black and white, but what about pairing it with a deep emerald or a muted teal? A little coral could add some whimsy to an otherwise feminine color. Think outside the box for the freshest combinations.
